About Dr. Matete Mathobela

Dr. Mathobela is a qualified female Specialist Dermatologist. She did her undergraduate degree at the University of Cape Town, she fell in love with dermatology at an early age in her career. She then went on to specialize in Dermatology at Tygerberg Hospital at the University of Stellenbosch under the guidance of Prof HF Jordaan and Dr. W Visser. Dr. Mathobela is a firm believer in the holistic management of a patient and individualizes each patient accordingly. She treats all types of skin diseases for all age groups.

Her Interests

Her interests are Paediatric and Geriatric Dermatology. She also has a vast interest in hair disorders, pigmentation disorders, atopic dermatitis, acne, and cosmetic dermatology.

Firstly I would like to thank Dr. Mathobela for her great work in restoring my skin. The staff has been awesome and very professional. Let me begin by saying I had mild to moderate scarring on my cheeks and had laser resurfacing done prior to starting with the treatment. Dermapen and the TCA pixel (micro-needling followed immediately by a chemical peel) procedure has really improved my skin significantly just after 3 treatments. The treatment was not painful, however, did have some redness and peeling of the skin afterward. There was minimal downtime and returned to work in 4 days after my treatment. I feel more confident with my skin now than ever and highly recommend this treatment.
