Cantharidan

Cantharidin, commonly referred to as “beetle juice” or “bug juice”, is a blistering agent derived from the blister beetle. This compound serves as a therapeutic option for treating both molluscum and warts.

Following application, blisters develop within one to two days on the treated areas, causing the molluscum to be lifted from the skin. The affected areas typically heal without scarring, though some residual redness or pinkness may persist and fade more gradually.

Treatment is usually repeated every three to four weeks until no new lesions appear.
